Welcome to jccgop.org, the official website of the Williamsburg-James City County Republican Committee (WJCCRC). We hope you enjoy your visit. The WJCCRC knows your right to privacy online is important. You do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information unless you choose to give us your personal information.
Should you choose to share your personal information, we would like you to know how that information is used by us to provide a better user experience, and the steps we take to protect your information. This privacy policy has been created to answer any questions you may have regarding the WJCCRC's data collection and protection policies. We reserve the right to change this Policy, and will post the date of the most recent updates at the top of the page.
What information is being collected?
The only personal information collected is information you give us. In our effort to grow our Republican grassroots community online, the WJCCRC may at times ask you to submit information — such as your name, address, phone number and email address — in order to provide you the information you want in a more timely manner. If you choose not to give us any information, we may not be able to provide you with timely information pertaining to breaking news, events, activist alerts and other Republican-related information.
Use of cookies
We make use of cookies to personalize and customize your interaction with jccgop.org and to provide you with the best possible online experience. A cookie is a tiny encrypted text file that is placed on your hard drive. If you choose to register as a member, a cookie will be used to recognize your computer in order to improve your experience on our site.
How we analyze the site
We use third-party analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, to collect internet log information and assess the aggregate level of traffic to jccgop.org, including what pages people are visiting, and to diagnose any potential problems with the site. These aggregated reports may contain information including IP address, device ID, date and time, web browser, referring website, and general geographic location. We do not use analytics reports to track a particular individual's use of the site. All users remain anonymous unless they choose to give us personally identifiable information.
Information collected when you donate
When you make a contribution to the WJCCRC, federal and state law may require us to obtain the following information: name, mailing address, employer, occupation, and amount of contribution. Online donors have the option to store their payment information with our online payment provider, Anedot, which is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. Contributions to a political committee are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
Text Messaging
If you provide your telephone number and opt in, we may send you calls and text messages about Committee news, events, and volunteer opportunities. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary. Reply "STOP" to opt out or "HELP" for help at any time.
Text Messaging Opt-In Data: We will not share or sell your text messaging opt-in data, consent, or related personal information with any third parties, unless required by law.
Children under 18
In accordance with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), jccgop.org does not knowingly collect information from children. The WJCCRC will never knowingly collect personally identifiable information from persons 13 years old or younger. How your information is used
We personalize the website and email communications. We will not sell your personal information. Under no circumstances will the WJCCRC sell your information to third parties or any commercial entities. We may share information you voluntarily provide with like-minded organizations committed to the principles or candidates of the Republican Party, Republican State Party organizations, and local Republican groups.
Security
Protecting your information is important to the WJCCRC. Strict security measures are in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. The site uses a secured/encrypted server for online credit card donations, and the online contribution form complies with FEC regulations.
